Functional Coatings
In the age of microelectronics the controlled production of functional coatings is of increasing interest. With the ever decreasing size of microelectronic building parts the creation of well defined nanoscaled coatings is of essence.
But functional coatings are capable of much more such as scratch resistance, optical properties (IR-reflectivity, light absorption) and catalytic properties (photo electrochemical watersplitting)
The facilities of the group offer various methods to create functional coatings such as metal-organic chemical vapor deposition, plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition and spray-pyrolysis.
